FECAL TRANSPLANT PROGRAM

Picture
Fecal transplants are being used more commonly in human medicine and more recently it has become a popular treatment option for our pets with chronic or acute unresponsive diarrhea. Fecal transplants involve taking fecal matter from healthy donor pets that have been tested and are free of obvious gastrointestinal disease and using this fecal matter to repopulate the gut of the unhealthy patient with good bacteria.

We need your help!
We are looking for donors for our fecal donor program!
We are currently looking for cats that meet the following criteria to donate their fecal matter for our program:
  • Healthy cats that are not overweight and have no history of gastrointestinal disease ( no vomiting or diarrhea)
  • Cats must be indoors only and ideally getting regular parasite prevention
  • Cats must be eating kibble or canned food (no raw fed kitties)
  • Must be a current patient at the clinic and up to date on routine care
If you have a cat that meets this criteria and are interested in helping us ( and our patients!) and taking part in the program please email the clinic [email protected] and we will send you a more detailed questionnaire to see if your cat is eligible to be a donor.   Not only can your pet help another patient in need they will also be eligible for several perks if they are enrolled in the program.
